You will keep receiving the care and support you need. You do not need to do anything.
We know how important trusted relationships are. We will keep your usual recovery worker with you wherever we can.
Your personal information will transfer with you and will stay protected and confidential.
We are working with our partners to deliver a safe, welcoming, and effective service putting you and your well-being at the heart of all we do.
Any questions? Speak to your recovery worker in the first instance. We will keep you updated throughout.
If you are currently using the service or thinking about using the service and want to know more we will be holding two drop-in sessions:
Southampton’s adult alcohol and drug support service will be delivered in partnership by The Society of St James and Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) from 1st July 2026. With over 53 years of local experience and strong NHS clinical expertise, we are building a service designed around Southampton’s communities. A dedicated telephone line, outreach across community venues, and a full digital offer will be in place this year with the introduction of a community day rehabilitation centre coming shortly after. Continuity of care for all existing service users is our priority alongside welcoming new people into support and treatment. Changes will happen slowly and transparently.
Referral forms will be available online from 1st July. Please check back to this site regularly for updates. If you are a partner organisation and would like to discuss the service in more detail, please contact us at ssji@ssj.org.uk
We very much look forward to working with you to develop an even better alcohol and drug provision across Southampton.
